A Legacy Spanning Over One Century: Looking Back at More Than 135 Years Of History

1890 — Seltzer Water and Lemonade Factory
Carl Nebgen founded a bottling factory for seltzer water and lemonade in Cologne, Germany. The beverages were distributed in specially designed bottles with ball caps—marking the beginning of a legacy in sustainability and innovation.

1892 — Self Distribution Network
Nebgen expanded operations by acquiring 100 small stores from two U.S. American entrepreneurs, enabling vertically integrated distribution of his beverages, including food across Germany.

1969 — Rising Sales and Operational Growth
To meet increasing demand, a new administration building and larger bottling factory were constructed. Nebgen’s annual sales reached several million Deutsche Marks, establishing the company’s position as a major player in the beverage industry.

2016 Diversification of Business Activities
Building on decades of expertise, Beldton was founded as a global enterprise focused on the development, manufacture as well as distribution of products in nutrition, hygiene and personal care.

2018 Extension as Ingredients Supplier
Beldton expanded into specialty ingredients for a range of industries, including agriculture, horticulture, food & beverage, personal care, cleaning products, water treatment, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.

2020s Continuing a Legacy
135 years later, Beldton proudly continues Nebgen’s legacy of manufacturing quality products that are trusted and enjoyed by consumers around the world, particularly within the beverage industry.
